El Paso County Democratic Party Urges Voters to Reject Extremist at the Ballot Box

For Immediate Release October 21, 2022

As was seen on January 6, 2021, American democracy and our institutions are vulnerable and at risk. Our country hasn’t faced a greater threat to democracy since the Civil War, and the voters must be as informed as possible about the extremism that has gripped and taken over the Republican Party.

We in the Democratic Party know that El Paso is home to many crossover voters and independents who frequently vote for the person and not the party.

Today, the El Paso County Democratic Party is asking every voter who is considering voting for Republicans to understand the threat of extremism that we are facing here in our community.

Unfortunately, there has been little media coverage of our November elections and even less about the dangerous rhetoric used by those running for elected office as Republicans. Because of that lack of information, we are sharing a handful examples of just one of the Republican party’s nominees to highlight for the public how dangerous it would be to give them their vote. Visit our video here.

We urge El Pasoans to reject the extremism of the Republican Party, save our democracy and vote for Democrats up and down the ballot.

And we encourage local media outlets to expose local candidates who are extremist.
