GET INVOLVED WITH OUR PARTY
There are numerous ways to get involved with the El Paso Democratic Party. From voting in our primary to becoming a precinct chair, there are many different avenues to join the party. Scroll down to learn about our local clubs, become an election judge/clerk, or sign up and we'll be in touch.
BECOME A PRECINCT CHAIR
Precinct Chairs are the grassroots leaders of the El Paso Democratic Party. A Precinct Chair is the local representative of the Democratic Party and its candidates in their voting precinct. A precinct is a small, grassroots level area of voters, generally bound by one or a few neighborhoods. Each of El Paso County's voting precincts can have its own Chair who must live in the precinct. Any registered voter that lives in the precinct with some time, energy, and commitment to helping elect Democrats to office can seek to become Precinct Chair. A person can be elected in the Democratic Primary, or chosen to fill an open spot by appointment of the county chair.

BECOME AN ELECTION JUDGE/CLERK
Our Democratic process depends on volunteers serving either as an Election Judge or Clerk at our polling stations. Ensuring that we have well-trained judges and clerks is the last line of defense that guarantees our elections run smoothly and fairly.
An Election Judge is the first point of contact to hold the election and the person in charge of their voting location. An Alternate Judge is the backup if the Election Judge is not able to work. If the Election Judge is able conduct the election, the Alternate Judge is still legally allowed to work in coordination with the Election Judge.
What is the difference between the Judge or Alternate? Judge is appointed by each Party for each voting location to conduct the election. The Democratic Party appoints an Election Judge if the precinct voted for the Democratic candidate for Governor in midterm election years or if the precinct voted for the Republican candidate an Alternate Judge is appointed.
An Election Clerk works to support the Judge.
These positions are paid positions and workers are recruited for both early voting and Election Day.
Are you interested in serving? Fill out the form below and we'll contact you soon.
VOTE IN THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY
The real way to become a "Registered Democrat" in Texas is by voting in the Democratic Primary. Every two years, typically in March, we have our Democratic Primary Election. In this election, we vote for our party's nominees for federal, state, and county elections in November.
After the primary election, we have the convention process where, as a voter or a person who's sworn allegiance to the Democratic Party, can participate in the county, state, and national convention. (Note: the DNC National Convention is every four years).
Visit our 2022 Democratic Primary Headquarters. Learn about our candidates, dates, and when and where to vote.
JOIN A DEMOCRATIC CLUB
There are other ways to join our party and that's by becoming a member of one of our many local Democratic Clubs. If you're interested in joining or forming your own Democratic club, send us a message and we'll be with you soon.
